Econ geography in the news

I am slowly revising an article for resubmission and not really writing the posts that I want to. But here are some links to interesting things in the news that I have been reading:

• If you also think that cities matter, the next question becomes: What is the world's most economically powerful city? Approximately 78% of global GDP comes from cities and metros and NYC rules them all!
• Then the Brookings Institution has a report out on the geography of US manufacturing - here is the Wonkblog's write-up.
